Category Schools - Counselor Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by supporting students' developmental and behavioral growth in a dynamic school setting. This contract opportunity for a Behavior Intervention Specialist is located near Mckinney, TX and focuses on providing expertise in counseling and behavior support across diverse educational environments. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with educators, families, and administrative teams to foster positive behavioral change and deliver targeted interventions. Your ability to interpret data, develop meaningful relationships, and respond in real time to student needs will directly influence student success and a positive school climate. Desired Qualifications Bachelor's degree is required; Master's in a related field is strongly preferred. Valid Texas teaching certificate with Special Education (SPED) endorsements. Direct experience in SPED, social work, school counseling, or a closely related area. Background as a school counselor, LPC, BCBA, or in psychology/social work highly valued. Key Responsibilities Design and implement effective Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to target student needs. Participate in ARD, IEP, RtI, and 504 meetings, contributing behavioral insights and recommendations. Support classroom environments, offering teacher consultation and professional development. Provide crisis intervention and assist in developing proactive strategies to enhance student outcomes. Work a full-time schedule, totaling 37.5 hours weekly, ensuring consistent support for the school community. This position offers a starting pay of $30+ per hour, tailored to the candidate's level of experience.
