Job Description
Job Overview The Academic Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Academic Mentoring Program (AMP) at Crossover Mission, Inc. Duties include daily academics and enrichment including college and career planning; student and management reporting; attendance reporting for academics; student-volunteer matching and management, academic assessments, reading and writing supplementation, maintaining student case files/notes and managing student success plans together with the athletic team, managing volunteers. The position reports director to the Director of Program. Professional Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher preferred Experience with teaching and mentoring youth who are at-risk of dropping out, performing below grade level, behaviorally challenged, struggling with Individual Education Plan's or have attention issues and/or trauma Ability to motivate and relate to students needing alternative education Strong organizational and administrative skills, be self-motivated and have the ability to multitask with limited guidance or supervision Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with all people, especially youth and parents who may be under-resourced Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey a vision of Crossover Mission's strategic future to parents, volunteers and donors A strong work ethic and friendly demeanor Technical ability and experience with school databases especially School District of Indian River County, grade books, Google Suite, Windows 365 General Responsibilities Plan, organize, coordinate and provide direct oversight to the day-to-day operations of the afterschool program Provide leadership, advice and insight to management in the development of program goals, schedules, activities, and growth Serve as lead chaperone for retreats and outings Prepare for daily academic sessions by getting materials ready or setting up equipment / computers Develop and implement a College and Career Service Plan for each student which includes academic enrichment, test preparation, academic advising, college financing, college awareness activities, and career exploration activities for the student and families Create opportunities for social and emotional growth Manage parent relations and involvement Attend staff meetings and present to Board members or funders as needed Assist in outcomes management for the Fundraising and Development Teams Assist in management of student snack and meal service Provide student transportation as needed, in company vans Perform other related duties as needed Join us in empowering students to achieve their academic ambitions and career aspirations!
