$25.00-$32.00 per hour Position Overview Class 101 Peachtree City and Class 101 Eagles Landing are seeking an energetic, experienced, and student-focused College Advisor. In this role, you will guide high school students and their families through the college planning and admissions process using Class 101's curriculum, resources, systems, and timelines. This position is well suited for an educator, counselor, academic advisor, college admissions professional, or other student-focused professional who enjoys mentoring teenagers and supporting their educational goals. Our mission is to empower students to have hope and discover a clear path to pursue their purpose through comprehensive, personalized college planning. Key Responsibilities
- Meet individually with students to provide college planning guidance.
- Teach students in small-group and classroom settings.
- Help students research colleges and build appropriate college lists.
- Guide students through applications, admissions requirements, and deadlines.
- Support students with resumes, essays, scholarships, FAFSA preparation, and related tasks.
- Set academic and college-planning goals with students.
- Provide ongoing accountability, encouragement, and motivation.
- Communicate regularly with students and parents about progress and next steps.
- Maintain accurate records of meetings, progress, deadlines, and action items.
- Learn and apply Class 101's curriculum, systems, technology, and planning methods.
- Stay current on college admissions, testing, scholarships, and financial aid.
- Participate in team meetings, training, workshops, open houses, and community events.
- Collaborate with advisors and leadership to provide an excellent student and family experience. Depending on experience and interest, additional opportunities may include prospective-family consultations, presentations, student enrollment, and business-development activities. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience working with middle or high school students in an educational, counseling, mentoring, advising, coaching, or similar role.
- Ability to connect with, motivate, and mentor adolescents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with students and parents.
- Strong organization and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple students, priorities, and deadlines.
- Comfort using technology and web-based student management systems.
- Professionalism, dependability, initiative, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Preferred Qualifications
- Current or previous state-issued teaching license or educator certificate.
- Experience as a high school teacher, school counselor, or guidance counselor.
- Experience as a college and career counselor or academic advisor.
- College admissions or postsecondary advising experience.
- Experience as an instructional coach.
- ACT/SAT instruction or tutoring experience.
- Familiarity with the Common Application and other college application platforms.
- College essay coaching experience.
- Scholarship research and application experience.
- Knowledge of FAFSA and financial aid.
- Experience working with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
