Career Specialist Part-Time | East Dekalb County Community-Based Role | Georgia Our client is an established Georgia-based supported employment agency with more than 30 years of experience helping individuals with developmental disabilities obtain and maintain meaningful employment within their communities. They are seeking engaged, positive, creative, and tenacious professionals who see potential in every individual and are committed to making a lasting impact. In order to qualify for this role, you must meet the qualifications listed below as well as have a vehicle, valid driver's license and auto insurance, and reside in Dekalb County, GA.. Position Summary The Career Specialist assists individuals with developmental disabilities in obtaining and maintaining employment within their communities. This role requires a high level of professionalism, integrity, independence, creativity, and commitment to supporting individuals in reaching their career goals. This is a highly interactive, community-based position involving daily local travel and direct engagement with employers, clients, and community partners. Key Responsibilities Assist individuals with obtaining and maintaining community employment Provide encouragement, coaching, and ongoing employment support Develop and maintain positive relationships with employers and community partners Advocate for client success and workplace inclusion Travel locally throughout the community each day to support clients and business relationships Maintain accurate documentation and communication regarding client progress Collaborate effectively with internal team members while also working independently in the field Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a high level of integrity in all interactions Qualifications Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills required Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Positive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to think creatively High level of integrity and professionalism Personal vehicle, valid driver's license and auto insurance required Ability to travel locally throughout the workday required Previous outside sales or relationship-building experience is helpful Physical Requirements This position regularly requires: Standing and walking throughout the shift Driving throughout the community during the workday Climbing stairs Bending and/or twisting throughout the shift Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds Additional Information Part-Time Position Equal Opportunity Employer Certified Drug Free Workplace Pre-employment drug testing and criminal background checks required Participation in E-Verify in accordance with the Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act If you are passionate about community inclusion, believe in the value and potential of every individual, and want to build a meaningful career helping others succeed, we encourage you to apply.
