6/30/2026 SUMMARY This position is responsible for providing service to the Truancy and Homeless Programs through the Regional Office of Education #33. The role coordinates the Regional Truancy Program, manages student cases and documentation, provides training and resources to school personnel, and connects students with alternative education and employment opportunities. The position also provides support for homeless students and families through McKinney-Vento services, including referrals, transportation assistance, school supplies, and coordination with community agencies. Additionally, the role monitors program data, maintains required reports, and collaborates with schools and state and regional partners to support student success.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & CRITICAL SKILLS 1.
High School Diploma or equivalent required (List any degree / license requirements here). 2. Valid Driver's License required (only needed if operating ROE vehicles or if driving is required for position) 3. Competence in utilizing Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Virtual Meeting Platforms. 4. Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. 5. Ability to push/pull up to 10 lbs. 6. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and an acceptable/courteous manner. 7. Understanding and awareness of multicultural needs. 8. Ability to maintain a positive and collaborative relationship/attitude across all ROE programs.
ABOUT THE ROE
The Regional Office of Education is an intermediate agency between the Illinois State Board of Education and local school districts. The Regional Office of Education #33 works with nine districts across the four counties: Henderson, Knox, Mercer, and Warren. We have eight programs and nine different services, with over 400 employees throughout the four counties. These programs and services can be anything from parenting classes and professional development for area educators to bus driver training, fingerprinting, and much more.
