Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Education and a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate as required by MDE.
Preferred Elementary Teacher Certification Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in training before the start of the program, as well as on-going training. The building principal determines the intervention schedule and grade level support. Work closely with classroom teachers, MTSS Coordinator, Literacy Coordinator, and Mathematics Coordinator to support students. Provide specific literacy and mathematics interventions through push-in or pull-out interventions. Conduct small group lessons during designated intervention blocks. Assess, monitor, and communicate student progress. Effectively manage students within small group learning situations. Support early childhood transition (K-1) by teaching and reinforcing school and classroom expectations. Assist with behavioral needs, including implementing de-escalation strategies and facilitating breaks for students acclimating to school. Provide personal care services as needed, including supporting toileting skills, utilizing visuals and prompting for cleanup procedures, and assisting with locating clean clothing. Complete all required state and federal documentation, activity logs, including time and effort reports, annual certifications and/or personnel activity reports.

Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Good organizational skills and initiative, ability to work independently.
Ability to collaborate with staff, students and the public.
Ability to implement with student, the strategies learned in training sessions.
