Job Description

Position Summary The Employment Consultant supports individuals with disabilities in achieving meaningful, competitive, and individualized employment outcomes. This position works with individuals through the different phases of E1MN, providing person-centered employment services, developing individualized employment strategies, and building strong connections with employers and community partners. The Employment Consultant will work closely with Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) during the Find phase, assist individuals in developing employment portfolios during the Plan phase, and provide ongoing support and job coaching as needed. Experience with Customized Employment is welcomed; training will be provided. Key Responsibilities Support individuals through the different phases of E1MN, providing individualized employment services based on each person's strengths, interests, skills, and employment goals. Utilize Customized Employment strategies to help individuals identify and pursue employment opportunities that align with their interests, abilities, and support needs. Training will be provided. Collaborate with VRS during the Find phase to identify employment goals, resources, and potential opportunities. Assist individuals during the Plan phase in developing a comprehensive employment portfolio, including resumes, applications, work samples, references, and other employment materials. Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, employers, community organizations, and other partners to create employment opportunities and strengthen community connections. Provide job coaching and on-the-job support as needed to assist individuals in learning job duties, developing workplace skills, and maintaining employment. Teach and lead individuals through employment-related activities while encouraging independence, self-advocacy, and confidence. Assist with job development, employer outreach, interviewing, onboarding, and employment retention. Document services, progress, outcomes, and interactions accurately and in a timely manner. Communicate effectively with individuals, families, employers, VRS staff, coworkers, and other members of the individual's support team. Foster positive, professional relationships with community partners and employers. Maintain organized records and manage multiple individuals, appointments, deadlines, and employment activities effectively. Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development opportunities. Follow direction and guidance from the Employment Specialist and collaborate as part of the employment services team. Perform other duties related to individualized employment services as assigned. Required Skills & Qualifications Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple individuals and priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Willingness and ability to teach, lead, coach, and mentor individuals toward their employment goals. Ability to build and foster community and employer connections. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with VRS, coworkers, employers, families, and other support professionals. Comfortable working in community-based settings and adapting services to meet individual needs. Strong problem-solving skills and a person-centered approach. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. Previous experience in employment services, disability services, vocational rehabilitation, job coaching, human services, or a related field is preferred. Experience with Customized Employment is a plus; training will be provided. Valid driver's license is required. Must be able to pass a federal background check. Pay:
$20.00 - $20.01 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
