Essential Functions Provide peer coaching face-to-face out in the community; educate and support their safety while actively using substances Assist the client towards motivation for individually based recovery by teaching and offering support, which includes sharing their recovery experiences while individuals move through the stages of change in their recovery Serve as a recovery agent by providing advocacy and assistance for the individual to obtain services that meet their recovery needs, by providing outreach and engagement via warm hand-offs in the Center and throughout the community, and encouraging them to participate in the recovery community activities Provide HIV 101 and Hep C 101 to clients and various organizations within the community Participate in Syringe Service needs, including providing new syringes to clients, disposing of used syringes, and educating clients on overdose prevention Participate in the distribution of safety kits to harm reduction participants Contributes to agency performance improvement efforts to ensure treatment is in accordance with state regulations and accrediting body standards, Collaborate/communicate with systems partners Documents all activity and correspondence in accordance with HEAL Somerset policy, Center policy, state regulations, and Joint Commission standards Engage in team meetings and individual supervision Works closely with the Harm Reduction Coordinator on progress towards program goals and to ensure all data collection required for grant reporting is completed Engages in continuing education to maintain and develop clinical skills, meet agency competency standards and satisfy requirements for ongoing licensure Performs other job-related duties as assigned Qualifications Essential Bilingual (Spanish/English), and experience working with culturally diverse populations. Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) Must have relevant experience in providing services and case management to individuals living with a substance use disorder Has experience in working across cultures Must possess knowledge in formal/informal community systems and resources Must have knowledge of Wellness and Recovery Principles, Person Centered Care, Trauma Informed Care and Integrated Healthcare Must possess a valid NJ driver's license in good standing Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with colleagues, coworkers, vendors, contractors, and the public Preferred Knowledge of community resources and services and the ability to collaborate with other professionals Trained in conducting Substance Use Interventions Advanced degree in social work, public health, or a related field preferred Full-Time, 37.5 hours/week

Salary:

$50,000-$55,000/year Benefits include health coverage (medical, prescription, and dental), paid time off (vacation, holidays, and sick), a deferred compensation plan, and enrollment in the NJ State Pension System.
