The Office of Student Disability Access (OSDA) is responsible for coordinating, approving, and providing reasonable accommodations to Hiram's students with documented disabilities in accordance with state and Federal laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The Thrive Learning Centerâ,,¢ is a comprehensive fee-based support program for degree-seeking Hiram College students with learning differences and other diagnoses such as ADHD, anxiety, learning disabilities - dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, psychiatric disorders, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, and other neurodivergent conditions. Thrive began in 2005 as the Academic Support Center at Notre Dame College in South Euclid, OH, and moved to Hiram College for the Fall 2024 semester after Notre Dame College closed. In addition to legally mandated accommodations and practices, supports include unlimited academic tutoring from professional tutors, monitoring of academic progress, social and emotional support and opportunities, and career services.

BASIC FUNCTION

The Testing Hub Co-coordinator's main responsibility is to coordinate all accommodated testing for students who use the Thrive Learning Centerâ,,¢ and the Office of Student Disability Access. The Co-coordinator is responsible for all Testing Hub operations, including maintaining test security, monitoring and proctoring all exams, and supporting the leadership team of the Thrive Learning Centerâ,,¢ and the OSDA, in a manner consistent with the College mission and the mission of the Thrive Learning Centerâ,,¢.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work cooperatively with Thrive and OSDA staff, students, parents, and Hiram College faculty and staff. Coordinate the Testing Hub, including ensuring test security, following testing protocols, scheduling tests with students, and maintaining clear communication with faculty. Share coordinator responsibilities with other staff. Monitor and proctor student testing. Communicate clearly to college faculty and staff regarding testing procedures and processes. Ensure compliance with student accommodations. Supervise the Thrive Chill Spot. Attend to detail and follow protocols to ensure test security. Maintain day-to-day operations of the Testing Hub. Assist Thrive leadership team with special events, ordering materials, and other administrative functions when needed. Attend staff meetings and other departmental gatherings and activities. Ability to comply with confidentiality and privacy laws relative to Hiram College, OSDA, and Thrive Learning Centerâ,,¢ services. Superior communication and organization skills needed for working with peers, supervisors, professors, and students; professionally relaying information. Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and in a timely fashion with minimal or no direct supervision. Ability to learn relevant processes needed to communicate accurate and timely information to the leadership team of OSDA the Thrive Learning Centerâ,,¢. Ability to work in-person during the academic workday (9 AM - 4 PM) and academic year. Other duties as assigned

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Office work. Light activity (occasional). Communicate and interact with students, peers, staff, and faculty.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree - minimum. One year's experience in teaching, testing, tutoring, higher education, disability services, adult education, or related field preferred. Proficiency in computer skills with software programs such as Microsoft products and other computer systems. Ability to tutor students who participate in the Thrive Learning Centerâ,,¢ is preferred.
