Career Pathways Specialist The purpose of BB2C is to span the boundaries between educational and business sectors in order to achieve our mission. Therefore, our approach is different from a typical hierarchical staff structure. Management lines exist, but staff work collaboratively within and across programs blurring these lines as needed to take advantage of individual strengths. We trust the process and continually adapt as we learn about the changing needs of our partners and stakeholders. At times, all staff may be included in organizational pilot projects that step outside the boundaries of job descriptions.

Responsibilities:

Community & Career Connected Learning (CCCL) is an educational approach that weaves together community partnerships, career exploration, and experiential place-based learning to strengthen schools and communities, especially in rural areas like Appalachia. The Career Pathway Specialist is responsible for CCCL by designing, implementing, and expanding career readiness and workforce development initiatives that connect students with meaningful experiential and career experiences. This role serves as a primary liaison between schools, employers, community organizations, and internal staff to develop programming that equips students with the technical, professional, and employability skills necessary for future success.

Regional CCCL:

Identify and connect with partner organizations or people working within the realm of CCCL Develop and maintain relationships with the local school districts, businesses, community, and government organizations in the assigned counties Serve as the liaison between community organizations involved in Community and Career Connected Learning (CCCL) Participate in district meetings, Business Advisory Council meetings, and other relevant meetings to gain understanding of sub-region's culture and make connections across sectors Be available to support and assist partner organizations and other stakeholder groups with communication, facilitating connections, and building relationships Develop, tailor, and implement programs based on identified needs of partner schools, including education-specific programs Essential Competencies for

Project management : aligns and manages partners toward shared performance metrics, tracks progress against benchmarks, and coordinates workgroups and partner deliverables across the talent ecosystem Cross-organizational diplomacy : navigates complex multi-sector relationships, competing interests, and power dynamics across K-12, postsecondary, workforce, health, and community systems without losing credibility or momentum Stakeholder engagement : The ability to speak "educator," "corporate executive," and "community leader" fluently. They must be able to listen to a business's bottom-line workforce needs and reframe them into actionable learning goals for a school principal. Adaptive leadership : adjusts strategy and approach in response to changing conditions, partner capacity, and emerging evidence without losing sight of the shared result. A default response of "Let's figure out how to make this work for you" rather than "That's not how our process works." Data fluency and impact reporting : Organized data collection and ability to analyze both quantitative metrics (participation rates, placement counts) and qualitative feedback (partner testimonials, student surveys) to continuously improve programs and communicate value to diverse stakeholders.

Ensuring student privacy, participant dignity, and sensitive business information are protected while still tracking key outcomes across the regional Talent Ecosystem.

The ability to see beyond isolated tasks and understand how a single business, student, or educator experience feeds into the broader regional Talent Ecosystem.

Ability to effectively communicate with and relate to young adults, younger students, and people with diverse backgrounds

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field, experience with similar positions

$43,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
