Position Summary:

Certified Peer Support & Recovery Specialists provide one-on-one support to individuals navigating mental health or substance use recovery. This role is community-based and centered on connection, encouragement, and shared understanding. If you've overcome challenges and want work that truly matters, this position allows you to use your lived experience to make a lasting impact.

Responsibilities:
  • Meet with individuals one-on-one in their home or community.
  • Provide emotional support, encouragement, and practical feedback.
  • Teach coping strategies and wellness tools that have supported your own recovery.
  • Assist peers with setting goals and developing action plans for recovery.
  • Help individuals access community resources, services, and support groups.
  • Build trusting relationships that promote empowerment, hope, and independence.

General Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery.
  • Minimum of 12 months work or volunteer experience.
  • Ability to pass all required Pennsylvania background clearances.
