We are looking for a reliable, compassionate, and experienced IHSS caregiver to provide full-time care for our father. This is a Monday-Friday position with some weekend availability required, including occasional Sundays. Our father is an older adult who needs assistance with his daily activities, supervision, companionship, transportation, and general care. We are looking for someone who is patient, dependable, trustworthy, and genuinely enjoys working with older adults. Responsibilities The caregiver will be responsible for providing hands-on assistance and helping ensure our father's safety, comfort, and well-being.

Duties include:

Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal care as needed Providing companionship, supervision, and redirection Monitoring his overall condition and immediately communicating any changes or concerns to the family Taking and documenting vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, respirations, and temperature Providing medication reminders and picking up medications from the pharmacy Taking him to and from doctor's appointments and remaining with him when needed Communicating appointment information, physician recommendations, and follow-up instructions to the family Assisting with grocery shopping, errands, and other necessary activities Assisting with meals and monitoring his food and fluid intake Helping maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment Performing light household tasks related to his care Providing transportation and companionship for appropriate outings and activities Accompanying him to church on some Sundays and remaining with him throughout the service Keeping the family informed of his daily activities, appointments, medications, and any changes in his condition Following the care plan and instructions provided by the family and healthcare professionals Requirements The following are required: Current IHSS caregiver certification/eligibility Current CPR certification Valid California driver's license Reliable, insured vehicle Safe driving record Ability and willingness to transport an elderly client Reliable transportation between the Fairfield and Antioch areas Ability to work independently while maintaining consistent communication with the family Experience caring for elderly adults is strongly preferred Experience with dementia or cognitive impairment is a plus Professional and personal references required Must be willing to complete a background check and any required screening

Schedule Full-time:

Monday-Friday Some weekends will be required based on the family's needs. Occasional Sundays will include accompanying our father to church and staying with him during the service. The caregiver must be flexible and comfortable driving our father between Fairfield and the Antioch area for medical appointments, errands, church, and other appropriate activities. What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who will become a dependable part of our father's care team. The ideal caregiver is patient, attentive, compassionate, trustworthy, observant, and a good communicator. Family communication is extremely important to us. We want a caregiver who will not hesitate to contact the family if they notice a change in his physical condition, behavior, appetite, mobility, medication needs, or overall well-being.
