Responsibilities Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patients' health status by observing vital signs and overall condition; report changes promptly to healthcare professionals Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption, ensuring dietary needs are met Use proper manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts to ensure safety during mobility assistance Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and infection control practices Document patient observations, care provided, and any incidents accurately in compliance with facility policies Skills Experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or developmental disabilities is highly valued Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and hospice care enhances your ability to support residents effectively Familiarity with care plans, patient monitoring, medication administration, vital signs measurement, and first aid/CPR certification is essential Strong communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and healthcare teams in a respectful manner Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts or other transfer methods Prior experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is preferred Competence in assisting with specialized needs such as autism support or intellectual disabilities support ensures comprehensive care delivery Join us in making a meaningful difference!
