Overview The Personal Care Assistant is primarily responsible for observing patients and providing assistance in personal care. Responsibilities Observes assigned patient(s); serves in the capacity of a sitter for assigned patient(s) during specific shift. Assists with basic personal care services as appropriate and as assigned. Assists assigned patient(s) in toileting. Observes for and reports safety hazards, and prepares incident reports. Participates in team conferences, in-service education programs, and staff meetings. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Training Successful completion of all State, Federal, ARH, or accreditation mandated training programs as they become available. Experience Two (2) weeks to one (1) month of on-the-job training is required to attain proficiency in the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities. Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Ability to successfully complete required regulatory, accreditation, and organizational training programs. Ability to learn and apply departmental policies, procedures, and job responsibilities within the required training period. Ability to maintain compliance with State, Federal, ARH, and accreditation standards. Ability to perform assigned duties accurately and efficiently after completion of training.
