Responsibilities Provide overnight personal care assistance, including helping clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor patients' health status by observing vital signs, mental state, and overall well-being, and document findings accurately. Assist with medication administration according to care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols. Conduct thorough patient observation throughout the night to identify any changes or concerns that require immediate attention or escalation. Support residents with mobility using manual handling techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer methods to ensure safe movement. Prepare nutritious meals and snacks suited to individual dietary needs, including specialized diets for dementia or Alzheimer's care. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control standards are met. Facilitate effective communication with clients' families and healthcare teams regarding patient status and care updates. Skills Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable. Strong patient observation skills with the ability to detect subtle changes in condition or behavior. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and neurodevelopmental disorders supports comprehensive caregiving. Proficiency in patient monitoring techniques including vital signs measurement and medication administration. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive information. Ability to assist with ADLs using manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods safely. Excellent communication skills for clear client interaction and collaboration with healthcare professionals. Basic first aid and CPR certification demonstrate readiness to respond effectively in emergencies. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities enhances personalized support capabilities.
