Job Description
Activity Specialist and First (1st) Shift Supervisor BlueWest Opportunities is seeking a compassionate, dependable leader to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a safe, engaging, and person-centered day program. This position supervises daily activities, supports staff, and helps participants build independence and enjoy meaningful community experiences. Key Responsibilities Coordinate safe, engaging activities based on individual goals and preferences. Provide shift leadership and support to program staff. Assist participants with personal care, meals, mobility, and other activities of daily living. Administer medications and monitor health needs as trained and authorized. Support community outings and person-centered activities. Follow individualized care plans, documentation requirements, privacy standards, and safety procedures. Safely operate Hoyer lifts and other adaptive or mobility equipment. Help maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized program environment. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old. Must have a High School Diploma or GED Valid driver's license and ability to meet applicable agency driving requirements. Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred. Leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills. CPR, First Aid, and medication-administration experience preferred; required training may be provided. Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, including assisting with transfers and mobility, with or without reasonable accommodation.
