Job Title:
Companion Care Provider (Facility-Based)
Location:
On-site at designated long-term care or assisted living facilities Job Summary As a Companion Care Provider, you will support the emotional well-being and social engagement of residents within long-term care or assisted living facilities. This role focuses on building meaningful relationships through conversation, recreational activities, and positive interaction—not hands-on care. Your presence and attention can greatly enhance the quality of life for each resident you serve. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one social companionship to assigned members based on scheduled shifts. Engage members in enriching activities such as conversation, reading aloud, music, puzzles, games, and simple movement (if safe and appropriate). Follow the care preferences outlined by the facility and the Referral Narrative. Adhere to all facility-specific policies and procedures at all times. Notify facility nursing staff if a resident displays signs of distress or requires clinical attention. Maintain professional boundaries and safeguard confidentiality. Facility Visit Protocol Check in with the facility front desk at the start of every shift. Sign out at the end of your visit.. Prohibited Tasks No ADL (Activities of Daily Living) support, including bathing, feeding, dressing, toileting, transfers, or medication assistance. No transportation of residents. No clinical care or monitoring. No sharing of personal information (either yours or the resident's). No use of personal devices during visits for non-care-related purposes. Qualifications Previous experience in caregiving, customer service, or human services preferred Compassionate, reliable, and respectful Strong communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable working independently within structured boundaries Ability to follow detailed instructions and document visits accurately Must be able to pass a background check and meet facility compliance requirements
