Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Elderly Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to seniors in a home or community setting. Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling and patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor and observe patients' health status, including vital signs, medication administration, and overall condition, ensuring adherence to care plans. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption to promote health and comfort. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas, laundry, and organizing personal belongings. Support residents' emotional well-being through engaging conversation, companionship, and participation in recreational activities. Document patient observations accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations, updating care plans as needed. Provide transportation assistance for medical appointments or community outings while ensuring safety during transfers. Requirements Prior experience working with elderly individuals in group home settings, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care strategies, and hospice care practices. Ability to perform patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and emergency response procedures such as CPR and first aid. Familiarity with resident's rights policies and HIPAA confidentiality standards. Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders or disabilities is a plus. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, manual handling, patient transfers using Hoyer lifts or other equipment, and assist with assisting clients with ADLs.
