Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team . In this role, you will provide essential support to adults with developmental disabilities , ensuring their safety, well-being, and quality of life. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at promoting independence and enhancing the daily living experiences of our clients in a group home settings, or through home and community care. Responsibilities There will be a pay differential for hours worked on Saturday and Sunday. Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support. Provide patient care and monitoring, including vital signs assessment and medication administration as per care plans. Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and cognitive engagement. Ensure a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and meal preparation. Support individuals with Alzheimer's or dementia through specialized care techniques. Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers when necessary. Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding client care and progress. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients. Qualifications Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and ability to recognize changes in behavior or condition. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. A commitment to providing compassionate care while respecting client dignity and independence.
