Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a caring and energetic Caregiver to join our team in Columbia, VA, for a part-time position working two days per week for eight hours each day. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities by providing attentive personal care and support. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, compassion, and a genuine desire to assist others in maintaining their dignity and independence. Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patients' health status by observing vital signs and overall condition, reporting any concerns promptly Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding as necessary Support clients with medication administration following care plans and HIPAA guidelines for privacy and confidentiality Help with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment Provide transportation assistance for appointments or errands using personal transportation methods Utilize patient transfer techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to ensure client comfort and safety Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and hospice care practices Familiarity with patient observation, monitoring vital signs, medication administration, and emergency response procedures such as CPR and first aid Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders or developmental disabilities is a plus Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and their families while respecting residents' rights Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely Valid certification in CPR and first aid; additional caregiving or nursing certifications are advantageous Join us to be part of a team that values compassion, dedication, and the opportunity to truly impact lives.
