Overview Join our compassionate team as a Respite Provider, where you will play a vital role in supporting an individual with diverse needs by offering temporary relief to their primary caregivers. This rewarding position allows you to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment, ensuring the well-being of the individual while providing essential caregiving services in our home with the opportunity for long term care over weekends. Responsibilities Provide personalized care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including support with bathing, grooming, dressing, and making meals Engage in meaningful activities that promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being including walks and basic outdoor activities. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties. Support transportation needs for appointments or community outings using personal transportation assistance or other approved methods. Experience Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or intellectual disabilities is highly preferred. Experience in group home settings, day programs and or high school special education settings is a big plus. Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice care, and memory care strategies will enhance your effectiveness in this role. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with patient transfers using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts or other manual handling tools. Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration are vital for success in this position.
