The case manager will provide supportive services to women or men in residential substance use disorder treatment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Help to link and transport program participants to medical appointments, social service appointments, grocery shopping, etc.; help clients apply for supportive services such as food stamps, rental assistance, utility assistance, etc.; teach basic living skills classes; help clients transition to transitional housing, recovery housing and/or permanent housing; and document services in a timely and accurate manner
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent writing, communication, organizational and time management skills with knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Exceptional interpersonal skills to relate with clients, participants and resource providers. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in behavioral health, social services or relevant lived experience required. Experience providing supportive services a plus Must apply to be certified as a case manager by the Alabama Department of Mental Health within 30 days of employment ADMH certificate for Case Management Services, preferred Must have a current Driver's License and a good driving record
Travel :
Travel may be required daily or on an occasional basis; must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation; mileage reimbursement for personal use of vehicle is included; when needed, will drive the agency's van.
