Job Description
Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience working with individuals in a crisis setting or social services preferred. Professional training may be substituted for experience. Must have a valid Florida driver's license.Primary Job Duties include:
Conduct interviews and crisis intervention with victims of domestic violence crimes in order to determine needs and explore options. Assess lethality and conduct safety planning with victims of crime on a case-by-case basis. Assist victim with a case plan (give information and referrals, transport to appointments). Complete victim compensation forms and legal referrals as needed and provide other information as needed. Maintain contact with other advocates regarding shelter issues and victims' case plans. Maintain counseling forms and statistics on all victims of crime in accurate, complete files. Complete monthly statistical forms. Attend meetings and trainings as scheduled.Secondary Job Duties:
Assist in the training of volunteers for VOCA position. Attend meetings and trainings as scheduled. Report any unusual incidents or breeches in security to the program manager. - Ability to use arms, hands and fingers (mopping, sweeping, computer use, writing etc.).
- Ability to reach, stock, climb (step stool or ladder), bend, balance, crouch, kneel and crawl.
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds frequently (donations, food, babies etc.
