Job Description

Symbol Training Institute is hiring a Case Manager to guide students through enrollment, funding paperwork, and attendance until they finish their program and start working. About the role Symbol is a private vocational school licensed by IBHE/PBVS, with campuses in Skokie and Addison, Illinois. We prepare people for hands-on careers in CNC Machining and Maintenance Technology, with many of our students using government funding to pay their tuition. Case Manager is the main contact for students and for the workforce agencies that pay for their training. You keep each student's file complete and accurate, and you help students solve the problems that would otherwise stop them from beginning and finishing the program. What you will do Guide each student from application through enrollment, collecting and checking eligibility documents. Build and maintain student files so they are complete, accurate, and ready for audit. Work with workforce agency counselors on funding approvals, billing records, and reporting. Track attendance and progress, and contact students who fall behind or stop showing up. Help students work through barriers such as transportation, childcare, and housing, and connect them to outside resources. Hold students to deadlines and requirements, and explain clearly what is needed and why. Work with instructors and admissions staff so students get consistent information. Support students as they finish and move into job placement. What we are looking for Required Two or more years in a job built on detailed paperwork and working with the public, such as case management, loan or mortgage processing, legal assistant or paralegal work, benefits or eligibility screening, admissions, financial aid, or patient intake. You stay patient and respectful with people who are stressed or behind, and you still hold them to what is required. Clear writing and phone manner. You document every contact. Detail-oriented. Comfort with a database or CRM. We use HubSpot. Able to manage a caseload and meet deadlines without close supervision. Helpful, not required Experience with WIOA, ITAs, or other public workforce funding. Experience in a school, training program, or social services setting. Spanish is a plus.
