• Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date. Due to the available budget allocated for this position, the hiring rate will not exceed $28.41 per hour. Why does the job exist? This position will determine proper classification of inmates, determine placement into eligible programming and inmate release preparation. How does it get done?

Determine:

Classification of inmates Placement into eligible programming Inmate release Who are the customers? The New Mexico Corrections Facilities Ideal Candidate The New Mexico Corrections Facilities Minimum Qualification Associate Degree from an accredited college or university in Guidance and Counseling, Penology, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Family Studies/Services, Criminology, or related field as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or experience in a correctional setting, records management, file auditing, case management, law enforcement, counseling, social work, government assistance programs, rehabilitative environment, working on health or social service-related matters, behavioral health, policy and/or statutory compliance totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required education. Employment Requirements This position is designated as safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Working Conditions Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with inmates.
