Job Description
Key responsibilities: The Shelter Advocate will provide direct service and systems advocacy to clients/residents. Duties will include crisis intervention, hotline, safety/security of service recipients/building, personal and legal advocacy, client intakes and exit interviews, case management, data collection and entry, and other duties as assigned.
Required skills and abilities:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills Handle confidential client and administrative information Ability to prioritize, be self-directed and handle a variety of tasks
• Works well independently or with others
Qualifications:
Two years' experience in working with victims of domestic violence or related field Valid driver's license, car insurance, and clean driving record Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
Experience:
Domestic Violence or related field: 2 years
