Position Summary Youth Program and Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for leading and expanding NAMI Westchester's (National Alliance on Mental Illness) youth-focused mental health education and engagement initiatives throughout Westchester County, as well as handle the organization's community outreach activities. The coordinator works with staff, volunteers, school and community partners to advance NAMI Westchester's mission and strengthen the organization's presence throughout the community. Primary Responsibilities
Lead the planning, implementation, evaluation, and continued growth of NAMI Westchester's youth-focused initiatives, identifying opportunities to expand programming and address emerging community needs
Provide leadership for school-based initiatives in middle schools, high schools and colleges including presentations and clubs
Cultivate and maintain partnerships with school districts, colleges, universities, community organizations and other community stakeholders
Represent NAMI Westchester at community events, school programs, health fairs, conferences, county meetings, and other outreach opportunities
Build and maintain strong relationships with students, educators, counselors, administrators, parents, community leaders, and program volunteers
Partner with the Program Manager to coordinate program scheduling, volunteer assignments, logistics, program participation data collection, evaluation, outcome measurement, reporting, and continuous quality improvement
Work alongside the Program Manager to cultivate community partnerships
Develop outreach materials, presentations, program resources, and content for the website, newsletters, social media, and other organizational communications
Participate in organization-wide initiatives, staff meetings, strategic planning, and special events as assigned
Work with team members to support grant administration Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social work, public health, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field preferred
Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with diverse partners, stakeholders, and people with lived experience
Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and public presentation skills
Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-up
Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively within a small, mission-driven nonprofit organization
Commitment to NAMI Westchester's mission of improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental health conditions
Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support programs, outreach activities, and community events.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing, coordinating, or delivering programs for youth, schools, colleges, universities, or community organizations
Youth education, prevention, or community outreach program experience
Ability to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers, interns, and student leaders
Experience planning and facilitating educational presentations, workshops, or community events
Familiarity with mental health advocacy and community-based initiatives
Background in nonprofit, educational, behavioral health, or community-based organizations
Experience with Microsoft Office, Canva, virtual meeting platforms, and social media platforms. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Interpersonal skills with the ability to establish trust and foster collaborative relationships
Problem-solving skills and initiative to identify opportunities for program growth and innovation

Ability to represent NAMI Westchester with professionalism, compassion, integrity, and confidentiality.
