40+ Hours per week—schedule includes regular events, Holy Days, and weekends to support youth ministry programs, liturgies, retreats, parish events, and special celebrations.
PAY RANGE
$70,304-$75,000 Annually Based on experience, education, and qualifications. SUMMARY The Director of Youth, Young Adult & Media supports the mission of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church by developing vibrant faith formation opportunities for high school youth and young adults, while overseeing parish communications in various platforms that inform, engage, and pastorally inspire the parish community. Working closely with the clergy, parish staff, ministry leaders, volunteers, and families, this position carries out the vision of the pastor, demonstrates leadership and pastoral accompaniment while ensuring consistent, creative, and faith-filled messaging across print and digital platforms that encourages evangelization by inviting the youth and congregation in active participation in the life and mission of the Roman Catholic Church.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Because all St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work. The position of Director of Youth, Young Adult, & Media consists of some or all of the following duties: Youth Ministry (High School) Develop and oversee a comprehensive youth ministry program for grades 9-12 Plan and lead regular gatherings, faith formation sessions, retreats, service opportunities, youth nights, fundraisers, conferences, and social events. Prepare youth for the Sacrament of Confirmation in collaboration with clergy and catechists and ensure alignment with diocesan guidelines. Recruit, form, and mentor volunteer leaders. Collaborate with parish staff, parents, and volunteers to integrate youth into parish life. Foster a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for all youth. Young Adult Ministry Develop and grow a welcoming ministry for young adults approximately ages 18-35. Build opportunities for prayer, fellowship, discipleship, service, and leadership. Organize Bible studies, small groups, social events, service projects, and faith-based discussions. Build pathways for ongoing formation, leadership, and parish involvement. Communications & Media Develop and oversee the parish communications strategy . Manage parish's website content, social media, and digital platforms. Produce and design parish bulletins, newsletters, graphics, PowerPoint slides, and promotional materials. Coordinate communication requests from administration and ministries. Capture photography and video highlighting parish life. Support livestreaming and multimedia production. Maintain the parish communications calendar. Monitor analytics and recommend improvements. Coordinate communications with the Diocese of Orange. Administrative Responsibilities Manage ministry budgets, calendars, registrations, and schedules. Maintain accurate ministry records, reports, and program documentation. Participate in diocesan and staff meetings, workshops, conferences, and ongoing professional development. Supervise volunteers assigned to youth ministry and communications. Ensure compliance with diocesan Safe Environment policies. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Communications, Public Relations, or related field (preferred) Demonstrated leadership experience supervising volunteers. Solid understanding of Catholic principles, evangelization, and pastoral standards in alignment with diocesan guidelines. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Proficiency with website content management systems, Canva (or similar design software), social media platforms, livestreaming technology, and video editing software. Ability to work and respond with positive attitude under Ability to build positive relationships with youth, parents, volunteers, parish staff, and community partners. Ability to be a creative, energetic, and adaptable leader. Collaborative and team-oriented mindset. PREFFERED
Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church. Church or non-profit Experience with Life Teen, Edge, Alpha Youth, or similar Catholic youth ministry models. Experienced with photography, videography, livestream production, and digital storytelling.
WORK CONDITIONS
The position primarily involves work in an office setting and throughout parish premises, requiring frequent use of office equipment such as computers, cameras, audiovisual equipment, telephones, printers, credit card swipe, postage machine, and filing systems. Regular evening, weekend, and Holy Day work is required to support youth ministry, liturgical celebrations, retreats, parish programs and events, and diocesan activities. Must be available to adjust the schedule as needed to meet the needs of the parish community and ministry activities. Regular interaction with children, youth, adults, and volunteers in a professional and faith-based environment. Some local travel may be required for parish and diocesan meetings, workshops, conferences, or special events.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to remain seated for extended periods while performing administrative tasks. Frequent walking, standing, and moving around the parish campus to support programs and events. Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds, such as program materials, supplies, tables, displays, and event setups. Manual dexterity required for operating audiovisual systems, cameras, multimedia technology, office equipment, creating materials, and managing paperwork. Visual and auditory ability to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and parishioners in person, via email, and by phone. Must be able to set up and dismantle chairs, tables, and other equipment needed for parish activities as required.
