Our children's ministry (Kingdom Kids) is a vital part of this. In this vibrant, Jesus-centered environment, children experience the love of Christ through our volunteers and grow in knowing and following Christ through age-appropriate Bible learning and activities. Our outreach into the community, often connected to children and family activities, seeks to build relationships, create awareness, and share the hope and love found in Jesus. Position Overview This position provides full-time leadership over The Avenue Church's children's ministry, birth through 6th grade, and directs the church's outreach ministry. This role includes several connected responsibilities: recruiting, scheduling, leading and equipping the volunteer teams that make Kingdom Kids and Sundays possible; recruiting and scheduling childcare workers for church-wide events outside of Sunday mornings; and planning and personally leading family-friendly outreach at community and city events throughout Delray Beach that make The Avenue Church a warm, welcoming front door to families. The Director combines team development, administrative excellence, and volunteer-equipping to make every setting where families meet The Avenue Church safe, fun, and impactful. Qualities We're Looking For A committed and growing follower of Jesus who nurtures a vibrant and prayerful relationship with Him and exhibits it with joy and humility. A person who embraces and models a vision for making disciples who are deeply rooted in the Gospel. Someone with a strong work ethic who takes initiative and pursues excellence. A highly relational individual who engages well with volunteers, parents, and children. A team player who eagerly works in unity with other staff, volunteers, and parents. One who believes strongly in and practices equipping volunteers to thrive in their roles. One who is compassionate toward the demands and pressures of parenting this age. An outgoing, energetic presence who genuinely enjoys representing the church in public, family-facing settings — comfortable leading games, activities, and conversations with families who may be brand-new to church. Essential Qualifications Has successful experience leading and inspiring others. Possesses adequate administrative, technology, and communication skills. Must be willing to become a Covenant Member of The Avenue Church. Children's ministry experience preferred, either as a volunteer or a ministry leader.
