Job Description
St. Matthew's Episcopal Church is seeking an interim rector to guide them through the next 18 months to 2 years. St. Matthew's, renown for its music program and liturgy, has historically been active in local humanitarian, feeding, and other philanthropic ministries. The congregation carries significant endowments which it uses to support the mission and ministry of the parish.
The interim rector will help lead the congregation to greater self awareness as well as continue work begun to develop lay leadership in the parish, instill best administrative practices for the congregation, and foster a sense of community and Christ-centered mission. Strong administrative, pastoral, and interpersonal skills are required. Ideally, this person would have intentional interim training, or be willing to participate in formation during the interim itself.
This is a full-time position, with full family medical insurance and other associated benefits. Housing can be provided by way of a furnished apartment owned by the parish, but this arrangement is not required of the interim rector and other accommodations can be found.
