Job Description

The Office of Admissions at the University of Tennessee at Martin is currently accepting applications for a Regional Admissions Counselor based in the Middle TN area. This position is especially focused on recruiting, admitting, and enrolling first-year students in Middle Tennessee. The Office of Admissions is a high-impact, high-energy, forward-thinking department that simultaneously handles multiple ongoing projects. This position will require frequent interaction with current and potential students and families, high schools, supervisees, colleagues within Enrollment Management, and faculty/staff from across UTM's campus. This position will require occasional night and weekend hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Excellent computer, interpersonal, and customer service skills Reside in Nashville, TN, or surrounding area or be willing to relocate Willing to travel Ability to lift and load boxes Detail-oriented Excellent written and oral communication skills Available to work some evenings and
Saturdays Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree Experience working in admissions, counseling, or advising at a regionally accredited college or university Experience giving oral presentations Experience working with diverse populations Supervision Received This position will report to the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment. Regular and frequent contact is expected in person, virtually, and by email. Written reports may be expected concerning specific situations. This position is expected to hold regular office hours and check email frequently.

Application Deadline:
Applicant review will begin immediately and continue until a candidate has been selected. Minimum hiring rate $43,888.00 annually (Market Range 07) - Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Manage geographic areas by creating and executing a territory strategic plan that includes recruitment strategies, tactics, resource requests, external messaging, events/programs that will help to achieve the overall enrollment goals; Define travel and recruitment priorities by analyzing enrollment and application metrics; Travel to and independently coordinate visits with high schools and community colleges, including college fairs and private visits while determining type of visit, timing, and materials needed to make the visit as successful as it can be; Represent UT Martin and the Office of Admissions at recruitment events; Advise and conduct individual and group presentations to prospective students, parents, high school guidance counselors, community college partners, and UT Martin faculty and staff on the admissions processes, policies, financial aid/scholarship options, campus housing, academic, curricular, and related university information; Give oral presentations and serve as liaison with faculty and staff involved in the admissions process; Visit with and give campus tours to prospective students, families, and groups; Communicate with prospective students and their families by email, phone, social media, and direct mail concerning admissions, financial aid, housing, and academic programs; Assist with Summer Orientation and Registration (SOAR), Preview Days, and other special events; Work extended hours with occasional overnight travel for recruitment; Other duties as assigned.
