POSITION SUMMARY
Works on behalf of clients in the Crisis Center doing intakes, answering the Crisis Line, doing referrals, assisting with Crisis Center operations, and participating in the On-call rotation. Reports directly to the Family Crisis Center Manager. This a grant funded position, subject to annual review pending appropriate funding levels.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Answers the Crisis Line. Completes client intakes for clients and their children. Acts as a referral source for men, women, and children who call or come to the Crisis Center. Assists in Crisis Center operations, facility upkeep, and subsistence activities. Arrange travel as necessary for victims. Participates in training and improvement of activities to expand services to survivors. Assist in sorting donations when received (includes washing, sorting, etc.). Does on-call duty in rotation, including S.A.R.T.
Job Qualifications:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Advocate I:
High school diploma or equivalent. One-year relevant work experience. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. Must hold current First Aide/CPR or obtain within 90 days of hire. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and occasionally on short notice in response to crisis situations. Demonstrated ability to work with people. Familiarity with the Maniilaq Service Area, its culture, people. Complete either the 40 hour Victim Advocacy Training online or 30 Hour Understanding Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. Driver's license preferred. Criminal history printout required.
Advocate II:
Same as Crisis Center Advocate I plus: one additional year of relevant work experience. 12 hours completed qualifying college credits can substitute for one-year work experience.
Advocate III:
Same as Crisis Center Advocate II plus: one-year additional year of relevant work experience or 24 hours completed qualifying college credits can substitute for two years of work experience. Other Job Information (if applicable):
