Job Description

Summary:
The Family Programs Assistant is responsible for a variety of roles that contribute to the overall success of families in Casa Grande and the surrounding areas. This position includes assisting in the coordination and facilitation of coursework for parents, that is likely to increase child resilience, and reduce the likelihood of substance use, child abuse and neglect. Our family and parent trainings are funded through the Arizona Parents Commission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following duties, willing to follow instruction from leaders, team player, and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned. In conjunction with CGA, Inc., staff assumes primary responsibility for assisting the Family Program Manager in helping to coordinating. Facilitating and providing technical support for CGA's parent and family programs.
Essential duties include the following:
1. Working alongside the Family Programs Manager, with guidance and mentoring from the Director/team, on all phases of program development, implementation, presentation, and evaluation. 2. Help with providing regular written reports. 3. Communicates effectively with the Casa Grande Community Resilience Coalition and the Pinal County Wellness Alliance to deliver periodic progress updates. 4. Compiles and assists with managing project data, working with outside evaluators and consultants as needed. 5. Serves as a project representative in the community, including preparing and distributing meeting minutes, notes, and other appropriate communiqués. 6. Helps with completing required grant renewals, project reports on time, following guidance from the funding source, and the program plan. 7. Help to create meaningful experiences for volunteers, including volunteer recruitment, training, supervision, acknowledgement, and evaluation. 8. Researches, identifies, and assists with writing corporate, foundation, and government grants and otherwise assists with agency fundraising.

Family Programs Assistant 9. Help to develop and manage effective community outreach strategies, including social media and websites. 10. Help to recruit and screen parent and family participants for programs. 11. Coordinates and supports the youth prevention training and volunteers. 12. Must have, or obtain, an Arizona DPS Fingerprint Clearance card (based on
ADHS/DBHS
guidelines) within 60 days of hire. May be subject to additional investigations such as driving record, criminal history, and background check. 13. Must have reliable transportation and maintain adequate automobile insurance coverage. May be required to transport community members or youth as part of community activities or events. 14. Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. 15. Drug testing - required 16. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, community mobilization, health education, substance misuse treatment, and recovery.
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree with experience working with families and youth.
  • Public speaking and or teaching/ instruction skills required.
  • Knowledge and experience with volunteer engagement practices.
  • Ability to work in a team and represent the organization in a professional manner.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
  • Ability to thrive in an open, transparent, and healthy work culture.
  • Identifies and resolves disagreements/conflicts in early stages.
  • Promotes a safe, equitable, respectful environment in which concerns can be addressed effectively.
  • Recommends changes to work practices and policies to promote transparency and approachability.
  • Good sense of humor.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office programs, Google products, Survey Monkey, Constant Contact, and other web-based services.
  • Bilingual Spanish (preferred)
