Job Description

Overview The School Social Worker provides comprehensive social work and case management support to children and families served by the Child Development Center and Easterseals Academy. This position assists families with accessing community resources, coordinates educational, financial, therapeutic, and transitional services, and supports families as children transition to other educational settings. The School Social Worker also oversees therapy subcontractors, manages Early Steps provider and system compliance, coordinates special projects and grants, and ensures the timely completion of required reports, invoices, and supporting documentation. Responsibilities
  • Provide ongoing social work support for all families attending the Child Development Center and the Academy.
Provide information, referrals, and follow-up services to all children and families served at the Center. Assist families with navigating and accessing available community resources and coordinate services. Work in conjunction with the Education Services Director and Early Childhood Director to support programs as needed. Support pre-K families in their transition to public or private school or when they leave Easterseals. Serve as liaison for parent conferences concerning therapy for Pre-K and Academy students. Provide supervision and service coordination for the Child Development Center. Participate in outreach and community events to promote the program. Work with other program staff and departments to ensure educational, financial, and transitional needs are met. Therapy Oversight Provide general oversight of all four therapy subcontractors at three different locations: Children's Village, Miami Gardens, Civic Center. For sites and therapies billed in-house
  • manage authorizations and patient lists. For Miami Gardens and Children's Village
  • monitor invoices and ensure invoices submitted to Easterseals are correct. For Children's Village
  • ensure all new therapy intakes are processed with therapy subcontractors and maintain the therapy patient list. Process all new therapists through Easterseals and Early Steps/MDCPS systems for compliance. Early Steps Serve as the liaison with Early Steps, including:
  • New provider enrollment
  • Provider compliance
  • System compliance
  • Leadership or supervisory contacts
  • Troubleshooting system or programmatic issues
  • Monthly reporting and invoicing Special Project Coordination
  • Oversee implementation and reporting for the Cinotti Grant, including:
  • Coordinate grant implementation with the Children's Village Case Manager/Outreach Coordinator.
  • Monitor service completion.
  • Complete all monthly reports and invoices with supporting documentation for the Cinotti team.
  • Oversee Connections Consultants, including timely reporting and documentation submission and monthly processing of consultant service fees.
  • Serve as liaison with Connections Count staff at Easterseals Florida to ensure compliance with requirements. Oversee the PLAY Project, including:
  • Recruit and enroll families for the PLAY Project.
  • Complete all monthly Better Together reports with supporting documentation.
  • Oversee PLAY Consultants, including timely reporting and documentation submission and monthly processing of consultant service fees.
  • Serve as liaison with PLAY staff at Easterseals Florida to ensure compliance with requirements and continued progress in the training/certification process for Mari and Estefany.
Grants & Reporting Assist with school and ADC related grant requests and subsequent reporting. Assist with current grant reporting. Educational & Experiential Requirements Master's degree in Social Work or a related field required. Bilingual English and Spanish required. Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with vulnerable populations is required. Proficient verbal and written communication skills required. Knowledge of government and community-based fiscal programs and health insurance for families in need of coverage preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data management software required. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with individuals and groups from diverse educational, cultural, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. Customer service-oriented, with strong organizational, time-management, attention-to-detail, and follow-up skills. High level of accuracy and analytical skills.
Other:
Work a flexible schedule as required. Other related duties as necessary to ensure the smooth running and efficiency of Easter Seals South Florida as a whole. Successful completion of background process which includes: Local background check, Level 2 clearance (FBI, FDLE), clear TB test, medical clearance, drug test and reference checks. Adhere to the use of Universal Health & Safety Precautions as applicable.
Pay:
$70,000.00
