Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid School Social Worker (SSW) 310 approval Active state social work license Previous experience as a School Social Worker or in a related school-based role Strong understanding of special education processes, including Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Skilled in building rapport with students, families, and academic teams Clear communication abilities, both written and verbal Compassionate, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in an educational setting
Key Responsibilities:
Provide social-emotional support, counseling, and crisis intervention to students Collaborate with general and special education teams to develop and implement IEPs Conduct assessments, maintain accurate records, and offer referrals for community resources Engage in consultations with staff and parents, fostering an inclusive, supportive school environment Facilitate social skills groups and promote programs that enhance student resilience and well-being Support compliance with state and federal regulations relevant to school social work
