Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a School Social Worker located near Parma, MI! This position is crucial for providing compassionate guidance and counseling services for learners, covering a maternity leave from January through April—and potentially continuing until June. You'll have the chance to contribute up to 40 hours per week, making a significant impact during the school year. While onsite presence is preferred, the school is open to virtual (VOCO) candidates with the right expertise. Qualifications:
Active Michigan School Social Worker certification is required (verify at the Michigan Department of Education website). Strong background working within school settings—elementary, middle, or high school. Solid understanding of mental health support, behavioral interventions, and special education processes. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff. Adaptable to both onsite and virtual service models.
Responsibilities:
Deliver individual and group counseling to students in alignment with their educational and social/emotional needs. Collaborate closely with educators, families, and administrators to develop strategies that support student success. Provide crisis intervention, behavioral intervention planning, and resource referrals as necessary. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to evaluations and case management.
