This position is crucial for providing compassionate guidance and counseling services for learners, covering a maternity leave from January through April—and potentially continuing until June. While onsite presence is preferred, the school is open to virtual (VOCO) candidates with the right expertise. Qualifications:

Active Michigan School Social Worker certification is required (verify at the Michigan Department of Education website). Strong background working within school settings—elementary, middle, or high school. Solid understanding of mental health support, behavioral interventions, and special education processes. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff. Adaptable to both onsite and virtual service models.

Responsibilities:

Deliver individual and group counseling to students in alignment with their educational and social/emotional needs. Provide crisis intervention, behavioral intervention planning, and resource referrals as necessary. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to evaluations and case management.
