Qualifications and Experience:
Valid licensure or certification as a School Social Worker is required Previous experience working with elementary-aged students preferred Strong understanding of child development and behavioral interventions Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with students, parents, and staff Ability to work independently while also serving as a collaborative team member Skilled in developing and implementing individualized support plans
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct social-emotional support to elementary students, including crisis intervention and counseling Conduct assessments to identify barriers to learning, addressing attendance, behavioral, and social concerns Facilitate group sessions and classroom presentations on topics like conflict resolution, bullying prevention, and coping skills Serve as a liaison between students, families, school staff, and outside community resources Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to develop and monitor interventions and strategies for student success Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with school policies and regulations This contract-based position offers a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week during the school year, allowing you to make a lasting impact while maintaining work-life balance.
