Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Peer Support Worker to join our behavioral health team. This vital role involves providing peer-led support to individuals navigating mental health, addiction, and behavioral challenges. The ideal candidate will have lived experience and a strong commitment to fostering recovery, resilience, and hope within the community. The Peer Support Worker will work closely with clients to promote wellness, facilitate engagement in treatment, and serve as a positive role model. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while developing professional skills in mental health and social services. Duties Offer peer-led support and mentorship to individuals experiencing mental health or substance use challenges Assist clients in developing coping strategies through crisis intervention and crisis management techniques Facilitate engagement in treatment plans and recovery activities using motivational interviewing skills Provide emotional support, encouragement, and behavioral health education tailored to individual needs Document interactions and progress using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems accurately and confidentially Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate care and ensure client safety and well-being Participate in training sessions related to behavioral health, addiction counseling, social work, and other relevant topics Support clients in developing life skills, goal setting, and community integration Maintain professional boundaries while fostering a trusting relationship with clients Qualifications Lived experience with mental health recovery or substance use recovery is highly valued Knowledge of crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavioral health principles Background or training in mental health counseling, addiction counseling, social work, or related fields is preferred Strong communication skills with proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems is a plus Compassionate attitude with excellent listening and mentoring skills Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality This position is designed for individuals committed to supporting others on their recovery journey.
