Job Description

Youth & Family Ministry Director Full-Time | Grand Forks, ND Do you love working with children and families and want your work to make a difference? We are looking for a relationship-focused, creative leader to help create meaningful opportunities for children, youth, and families to connect, grow in faith, and become part of a welcoming church community. The Youth & Family Ministry Director will lead programs and activities for children, youth, and families while building strong relationships within our congregation and the broader community. What You'll Do Plan and coordinate youth and family faith formation, fellowship, service projects, retreats, Vacation Bible School, and special events. Build meaningful relationships with children, youth, parents, caregivers, and families. Create opportunities for children and youth to participate in worship and congregational life. Recruit, train, coordinate, and support volunteers. Develop family, intergenerational, and community outreach opportunities. Build relationships with schools, community organizations, and other churches. Communicate regularly with families and church leadership and help promote programs and activities. Help establish program goals, manage resources responsibly, and ensure appropriate child-safety practices. Who We're Looking For Our ideal candidate is welcoming, organized, creative, dependable, and comfortable taking initiative. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young people and families and can communicate the Christian faith in a positive, age-appropriate, and inclusive way. As an ELCA congregation, we are seeking someone who understands and supports the mission and values of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Familiarity with ELCA theology and its approach to ministry is preferred, along with a willingness to continue learning and growing in the Lutheran faith tradition. Education or experience in ministry, education, youth development, family studies, social work, nonprofit leadership, or a related field is preferred. Experience working with children, youth, families, and volunteers is highly valued. Why This Opportunity? This is an opportunity to do more than coordinate programs. You'll have the chance to build relationships, develop new ideas, strengthen existing ministries, and help shape how our church engages children, youth, families, and the community in the years ahead. This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule that will include Sundays, some evenings, and occasional weekends.
