(KCS) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) multi-service organization supported by government agencies, foundations, corporations, and individuals. KCS aims to develop and deliver a broad range of social service programs to meet the community's various needs. Position Summary The Education Department is seeking a dynamic, organized, and proactive Program Coordinator to lead and elevate our Kids Program/Creative Studio in Westchester. This role is responsible for overseeing daily program operations, guiding instructional support, and managing student engagement for our elementary and middle school arts and dance initiatives. Working closely with department leadership, the Coordinator will ensure high-quality program delivery, streamline logistics, and foster positive relationships with participating families and community partners." Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Oversee daily operations, scheduling, and logistical prep for the Kids Program/Creative Studio, ensuring classrooms, supplies, and equipment are fully prepared for elementary and middle school Creative Arts classes as well as the elementary K-Pop classes. Work alongside and support lead instructors to maintain high quality in program delivery, manage classroom dynamics, accommodate diverse learning styles, and promote active student participation. Establish and enforce classroom safety guidelines, behavioral standards, and protocols to maintain a clean, secure, and welcoming environment for students and staff. Manage attendance tracking, monitor student engagement, compile progress reports, and deliver regular observational feedback to departmental leadership to assess program quality. Serve as the primary operational link for leadership and instructors—coordinating staff schedules, sharing teaching resources, resolving daily operational bottlenecks, and ensuring smooth program execution. Lead participant outreach, maintain active communication with parents and families, and represent the department at community events to strengthen local partnerships and raise program visibility. Collect, analyze, and organize program data, enrollment metrics, and participant trends to assist leadership with grant applications, funding reports, and contract compliance. Perform higher-level administrative tasks and special projects as designated by department leadership to support overall organizational goals. Perform general administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor. Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Current college enrollment or higher education preferred. Prior administrative or operational experience in education, youth development, or non-profit settings, with previous experience supporting classroom activities or working directly with children, highly preferred. Strong interest and experience working with the AAPI community. Bilingual proficiency in an East Asian language (such as Korean, Mandarin, or Cantonese) is highly preferred to best serve our community demographic. A strong commitment to public service and community advocacy; experience working or volunteering within a non-profit environment is a plus. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Knowledge A strong understanding of cultural nuances and the ability to interact effectively, empathetically, and adaptively with individuals from diverse, multicultural, and immigrant backgrounds. A basic understanding of or willingness to learn about non-profit operations, youth development, adult education, or ESOL program structures. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to engage effectively with children and build positive relationships with parents and families. Comfort working with data systems and a basic understanding of documentation standards required for government or foundation funding. Abilities Ability to communicate clearly, persuasively, and empathetically, both verbally and in writing, in the languages necessary to perform the role (English, Korean, or both). This includes the ability to hear, speak, and be understood in the work environment, and to engage effectively with diverse populations and immigrant communities. Proven ability to multitask, balance shifting tasks, and meet routine deadlines efficiently within a part-time schedule. Strong self-direction to complete assigned tasks productively, while remaining a highly collaborative, communicative, and reliable team player. A proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative on daily duties, anticipate routine administrative needs, and use sound judgment to resolve daily operational challenges. Demonstrated capacity to maintain a high level of professionalism, integrity, and strict confidentiality regarding participant and organizational data. Skills Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Gmail) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). Ability to provide basic tech support and troubleshooting for instructional staff as needed. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to build welcoming, supportive relationships with staff, participants, families, volunteers, and visitors. Demonstrated capacity to maintain a high level of professionalism, integrity, and strict confidentiality regarding sensitive participant and organizational data. Excellent organizational skills to maintain meticulous, accurate records, assist in gathering program data, and help prepare routine internal updates. A proactive and collaborative team player who enjoys supporting daily office operations, taking initiative on administrative tasks, and helping coworkers resolve everyday workflow challenges.
Pay:
$20.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 1.0 - 20.0 per week
