CORNERSTONE CARES

, our new in-home behavioral health program serving children, adolescents, and families throughout the Greater Waterbury area. If you are an LMSW, LPCA, or MFTA looking for meaningful child and family work, regular (paid) clinical supervision, flexible scheduling, mileage reimbursement, and a higher rate for in-home services, CARES offers an opportunity to grow your clinical experience while becoming part of a brand-new program from the beginning. CARES provides a more supportive level of treatment than traditional outpatient therapy for children and families who may benefit from increased clinical contact, family involvement, and care coordination. This is not a crisis response or on-call position. Clinicians provide planned, structured behavioral health treatment in the family home and community, with telehealth available when clinically appropriate and permitted. CORNERSTONE CARES?

CARES stands for Comprehensive Assessment, Restoration, Engagement & Stabilization Services. The program was created for children and adolescents who may need more support than traditional outpatient therapy or who would benefit from a structured transition after a higher level of behavioral health care. CARES is designed to help families strengthen stability, engagement, coping, communication, routines, and connection to ongoing supports. Treatment is generally time limited, with episodes lasting approximately 12 to 24 weeks , based on clinical need, progress, and medical necessity. This is intentional, focused work that allows clinicians to make an impact with both the child and the family. What You Will Do As a CARES clinician, you will: Conduct behavioral health intakes and ongoing clinical assessments. Provide individual psychotherapy to children and adolescents. Provide family and caregiver-focused interventions when clinically indicated. Develop and update individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and interventions. Help children and families strengthen emotional regulation, coping skills, communication, parenting strategies, family routines, and behavioral functioning. Coordinate care with authorized providers and community partners, including DCF, IICAPS, hospitals, IOP programs, PCP offices, schools, and outpatient providers. Assess clinical risk, develop safety plans when indicated, and follow Cornerstone's mandated reporting and clinical safety procedures. Complete accurate electronic clinical documentation, generally within 24 to 48 hours of service. Maintain an organized caseload and use engagement strategies to support consistent participation. Travel to children and families throughout the Greater Waterbury area for scheduled in-home services. Participate in clinical supervision, case consultation, quality review, and CARES program training. Who We Are Looking For We are especially interested in clinicians who enjoy working with children and families and want to develop stronger skills in family-centered and community-based behavioral health treatment. Required Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or another qualifying behavioral health discipline. Current Connecticut LMSW, LPCA, or MFTA license. Valid driver's license. Reliable transportation. Current automobile insurance. Ability and willingness to provide services in family homes and community settings. Strong clinical documentation, communication, organization, and time-management skills. Preferred Experience working with children, adolescents, or families. Experience in outpatient behavioral health, school-based services, community mental health, intensive outpatient programs, IICAPS, DCF-connected services, or other higher-acuity behavioral health settings. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are welcomed but not required.
