Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor/Therapist to join our dynamic mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide evidence-based psychotherapy and counseling services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Your expertise will help clients navigate mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve personal growth. Duties Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify client needs. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage urgent mental health situations effectively while ensuring client safety. Provide specialized counseling for issues including addiction, grief, PTSD, gender identity concerns, and chronic pain management. Maintain detailed medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management plans and coordinate care for clients with complex needs such as autism spectrum disorder or disabilities. Utilize telehealth platforms to extend services remotely, ensuring accessible care for all clients regardless of location. Requirements Master's degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling or related field from an accredited institution. Valid licensure or certification as a licensed professional counselor (LPC), licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), psychologist or equivalent in the state of practice. Proven experience in psychotherapy techniques including motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, psychopharmacology support, and crisis management. Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation. Experience working with children, adolescents, individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medical records management within behavioral health settings. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations; experience in outpatient or inpatient clinical environments is advantageous.
