Hiring Range - $16.00 to $16.25 OPERATING HOURS Monday thru Saturday 8:25am to 1pm Monday thru Thursday 4:55 to 7:30pm; shifts vary - a minimum of 9 hours per month is required. SUMMARY This is a great opportunity if you enjoy working with children aged 6 months to 9 years old. This position creates a welcoming, engaging, and safe environment in the Child Care area at the Recreation Center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Provide a creative, safe, and engaging environment that supports children's social, emotional, and learning development while ensuring parents feel comfortable and confident. Maintain supervision and control of the environment by monitoring activities and facilities, using required safety equipment, anticipating potential hazards, and taking appropriate action to prevent accidents. Prepare, organize, inspect, set up, and break down program materials and equipment to ensure safety, cleanliness, and readiness for use. Maintain accurate children's files and documentation in compliance with all childcare and building policies and procedures. Enforce all childcare and facility policies, including cleaning and sanitizing toys and materials. Complete and report all required documentation for attendance, accidents, and injuries within the assigned area. Attend staff meetings as scheduled.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND FORMAL TRAINING

Must be at least 18 years of age. Experience working with children. Candidate must also pass background check. CPR, First Aid and Universal Precautions required within 60 days of hire.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATION

Communicate in Spanish Verified previous experience with children aged 6 months and older

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The candidate must have sufficient strength, agility, stamina, and flexibility to move or carry up to 50 pounds, stand, crouch, kneel, bend and stoop while assisting children for long periods of time. The candidate must have adequate hearing and vision to discriminate between different sounds, objects, people, and colors at near and far distances.
