Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Ensure that staff at all school-aged childcare program sites follow legal and district requirements to provide appropriate, safe, and secure school-aged childcare programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Must work assigned before-school and after-school shifts to ensure consistent program operations and supervision.
  • Supervise and support students to ensure their safety, well-being, and dignity while maintaining program, district, state, and federal expectations.
  • Plan and/or implement and organize engaging activities and experiences that support students' social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
  • Lead and supervise the daily operations of the site, ensuring a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environment for all students.
  • Build and maintain a supportive program culture through positive relationships with students through clear and respectful communication, active engagement, and effective behavior guidance practices.
  • Assist Program Coordinator in supervising, training, mentoring, and supporting site staff to ensure quality program implementation and compliance with all program, district, state, and federal expectations.
  • Collaborate effectively with families, school personnel, program staff, and administration as necessary regarding children's participation, program activities, concerns, and accomplishments.
  • Communicate effectively with families, school personnel, program staff, and administration through distribution of various methods, including lesson plans, calendars, newsletters, emails, verbal discussion, and other program materials as necessary.
  • Complete and maintain all required site records, attendance documentation, reports, financial records, and administrative paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collect, document, and submit program fees and related financial records in accordance with established program internal controls.
  • Assist in meeting all accreditation, health, safety, and program compliance requirements, including maintaining required documentation and monitoring of site practices.

Attend and actively participate in required meetings, professional development opportunities, and certifications, including but not limited to CPR/First Aid, HWC, ServSafe, and other required trainings. Collaborate with program leadership to continuously improve program quality, participant engagement, and family satisfaction.

Follow all program, district, state, and federal policies, procedures, regulations, and safety protocols. Perform other duties as assigned by Administration, including supporting operations at other program sites when needed.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Degree or college credits in a related field preferred.

Experience with school-aged children.

Prior experience in a school or childcare setting is preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Demonstrate organizational ability and attention to detail.

Ability to provide assistance to the school community as necessary.

Ability to work independently.

Excellent human relation skills.

Knowledge of office equipment (computers, copiers, fax machine, and related items).

Willing to successfully complete required ongoing training.

Knowledge of requirements of child abuse/neglect laws.
