Job Description

SCOPE Education Services is looking for Group Leaders for our after school child care programs located in the Northport School District. Programs operate from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

$500.00.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Supervises children to maintain a safe environment. Implements daily schedule of age-appropriate activities; assists in program planning. Assists with set up and cleanup of daily activities and snacks, and conducts such activities. Reinforces behavior management strategies utilized by Site Director. Ensures compliance with all SCOPE policies and procedures and OCFS Regulations. Displays a warm, positive attitude with parents.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
: If under age 18, one or more years of prior experience working with children under the age of 13. Must be able to successfully complete a physical examination by a medical doctor specifically relevant to having TB immunization and being healthy enough to work with children. Must be able to complete 15 hours of paid inservice training on required OCFS topics annually. (Training will be provided). Must be able to complete other training requirements as from time to time may be required. Must be able to complete First Aid/CPR training and keep certification current.
TIME AND LOCATION REQUIREMENTS
must be available to work extra hours if needed to maintain ratio. Must accept a temporary or permanent assignment change if needed. Must have ability to perform general physical activities including but not limited to bending, standing, and walking, all for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 20 pounds regularly. Must be able to maintain alertness in observing and dealing with situations involving groups of children. Must have adequate speaking, hearing, and vision sufficient to handle groups of children. Must have the ability to effectively handle emergency situations and react accordingly. Must be able to maintain regular attendance, punctuality and adherence to agreed-upon schedule of availability.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
: High School Diploma and age 16+, or high school junior or senior who is 16 years of age or older.
