Childcare Support Specialist a/k/a

Floater Position Summary:

The Childcare Support Specialist is an essential member of our childcare team who helps keep the center running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This flexible position provides support wherever needed throughout the day, including assisting teachers, covering staff breaks, maintaining cleanliness, helping with meal preparations as needed, completing laundry and other responsibilities. The ideal candidate is dependable, flexible, energetic, and willing to step in whenever needed to support our children, families and teachers.

Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning & Sanitation

• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the center.
• Clean and sanitize classrooms, common cares, tables, counters and high touch areas.
• Clean and sanitize toys and classroom materials as needed.
• Assist with daily and scheduled cleaning responsibilities.
• Take out trash and ensure trach areas remain clean and orderly. Kitchen & Meal Support
• Assist with basic meal and snack preparation as needed.
• Help with dishes, wash, dry, and put away kitchen items.
• Keep kitchen and food preparation areas clean and organized.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines. Classroom & Teacher Support
• Provide coverage for staff breaks and lunches.
• Assist teachers in classrooms as needed.
• Step in to support classrooms during busy times, staff absences or changing needs.
• Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for children.
• Follow all Center policies and health and safety policies. Laundry & General Center Support
• Wash, dry fold and put away laundry.
• Restock classroom and Center supplies as needed.
• Help organize storage areas and maintain an orderly environment.
• Assist with special projects and other duties that support the operation of the Center.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift and move throughout the Center during a workday.
• Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment as needed.
• Ability to assist with classroom and center activities.

Pay:

$10.00 - $12.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
