We are seeking a part-time childcare provider to join our staff team in the nursery at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church. This is a VERY part-time position, suitable for someone looking for a modest supplemental income. Childcare is offered at TVUUC on Sunday mornings from 9:30am - 12:30pm and on many Sunday afternoons from 12:45pm - ~ 3:15pm. Shifts are also scheduled for occasional additional meetings or events (subject to caregiver's availability). We maintain a team of 4-5 staff members who are scheduled monthly, with an average of about 6 - 7 shifts approximately 2-3 hours each per month. This position is good for students, professionals or retirees with experience working with young children. Children in the nursery range in age from 6 months to 4 years. Afternoon childcare and childcare provided for occasional additional meetings or events may include care for older children through approximately 12 years of age. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have child care experience.

A love of children and a welcoming, friendly demeanor An ability to interact positively and communicate well with children's families and primary caregivers A flexible and positive attitude Openness to gaining an understanding of Unitarian Universalist principles and how they are lived in the nursery Infant/Child CPR certification or willingness to obtain Willingness to be trained on and comply with the TVUUC Child Care Policy Compensation is $15.85/hour. A background check, two references and access to reliable transportation as well as reliable means of communication (phone, text, email) are required.
