Part-Time Position Summary Hillside Church is looking for a Part-Time Worship Leader who desires to help lead our congregation to draw nearer to God through Christ-centered worship. We want worship at Hillside to help form people into the likeness of Jesus Christ, draw the congregation into the presence of God, strengthen the church for mission, and create an environment where both longtime believers to experience the love of Christ through the Holy Spirit. For candidates feeling called into pastoral ministry, additional hours and associate pastor responsibilities may be added. Key Responsibilities

• Select songs for Sunday service worship set that are biblically grounded, theologically sound, Christ-centered, and appropriate for congregational worship.
• Work closely with the Lead Pastor in planning worship services and selecting songs that complement the biblical theme and direction of each service.
• Lead congregational singing with humility, authenticity, and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.
• Participate in and lead Sunday morning rehearsals and ensure the worship team is adequately prepared each week.
• Coordinate with volunteers responsible for sound, projection, livestream, and other worship technology to help ensure services are prepared and run smoothly.
• Build relationships with, pray with and encourage worship team members.
• Availability to lead seasonal worship services. Qualifications
• A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a growing relationship with Him.
• Basic understanding or willingness to learn about the doctrines, mission, and values of the Church of the Nazarene.
• Musical instrument abilities (piano or guitar preferred) and vocal leadership abilities.
• Previous experience leading congregational worship or working with worship teams is preferred but not required.
• A servant-leader mindset, recognizing that worship ministry is about pointing people toward Christ rather than personal performance.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Lead Pastor, worship team, and other church leaders. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be someone who:
• Loves Jesus wholeheartedly.
• Leads with humility, authenticity, and spiritual discernment.
• Can lead a congregation rather than simply perform for a congregation.
• Is able to encourage genuine congregational participation.
• Is comfortable working within a team and receiving direction from pastoral leadership.
• Understands worship as an essential part of discipleship, spiritual formation, evangelism, and the life of the church. Time Commitment Approximately 5-7 hours per week to start, including:
• Sunday worship leadership for the 10:00am service
• Sunday morning worship rehearsal
• Worship planning and preparation
• Special services and church events as scheduled Compensation Compensation will be commensurate with experience, responsibilities, and hours.

Pay:

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 5.0 - 10.0 per week
