Job Description

Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Palm Coast Reverend Edwin Coffie, M.Div., Pastor Youth Minister Position Announcement Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Palm Coast (FL) ('MCBC') seeks qualified candidates for the position of Youth Minister. In this role, the Youth Minister is expected to be actively engaged with the Church's youth and young adults, and their immediate families as appropriate, through the preaching, teaching, planning and coordination of events specifically designed to grow and develop these populations in Christ, leading to their salvation and Church memberships over time.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will be a person who: Has accepted a call to the preach and/or youth pastoral ministry, with the passion, necessary skills and abilities to teach, plan appropriate activities, and relate well with youth and young adults; Has experience performing all ministerial-related duties; Has a vision for the growth and development of young people in the Church, leading them to Christ. Demonstrates Christian character and commitment in daily life and the ability to articulate a personal faith journey; Has a minimum of 3 years' experience in leading youth and working with young adult ministries; Is experienced developing, implementing and monitoring fiscal plans and budgets; Has the ability to both develop and organize programs and activities that keep youth and young adults engaged, spiritually fed and growing, and to activate responsibilities with minimum supervision and follow-up; Is a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Willing and able to take initiative and problem-solve, when necessary, and to establish relationships with youth's parents, as well; Has high standards in attitude, outlook, and morals, with an awareness of the importance of example.
EDUCATION
The successful candidate will have, at a minimum, a Bachelor's degree, preferably in ministry or theology. A graduate degree in ministry or theology is preferred, but not required.
SALARY:
Commensurate with experience and salary history. Anticipate funding will be available to partially offset out-of-state relocation and health insurance costs.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of the Youth Minister are to serve the Church, in general, and to provide general Christian education, oversight and coordination of the entire Youth Ministry, in particular, including Worship Services, special activities and events and general functions that build, support and encourage youth and young adults, both at MCBC and in surrounding communities. The Youth Minister reports to and works closely with the Pastor. The Youth Minister must work within MCBC guidelines, policies and procedures. Know and comply with MCBC Organizational Mission, Vision and Core Values, and is expected to be aligned with the Baptist faith. Work closely with the Deacon and Trustee Ministries, the Director of Operations, and the Christian Education Director. Develop and maintain job-related Goals and Objectives, for review and approval. Assist the Pastor and Deacons Ministry with Pastoral-related duties, listed, and as assigned, but not limited to: Preaching Teaching Youth Bible Study Member counseling Hospital and home visitation New member outreach Accompany and/or support Pastoral Staff travel and outings. Ensure all standard, marquee and special events or services for the Youth and Young Adult Ministries are planned and organized on the MCBC Campus, or offsite, efficiently and effectively. Examples of such events that may be assigned include, but not limited to: College Tours End of School Year Celebrations Scholarship Celebrations Hallelujah Fest Vacation Bible School Youth Summit Contract, schedule and plan special events held on the MCBC Campus for the Youth and Young Adult Ministries. Assist the Pastor in providing leadership for the development of the Youth and Young Adult Ministries of the Church, in accordance with MCBC vision, core values, goals and objectives. Other duties appropriate to the position, as assigned.
APPLICATION/PROCESS TIMELINE

A Search Committee discussion of first-round applications received by October 23, 2026 will take place on October 27th. Applications received thereafter are expected to be reviewed during the week of November 9th. (This timeline may be revised.) Interviews anticipated to be scheduled late November/early to mid-December, and will be conducted via Zoom. Top 2 to 3 finalists will be invited to spend a weekend with us, to include meetings with Church leadership, and preaching during Sunday Worship Service, immediately followed by a 'meet-and'greet' session with the Congregation.
