Job Description

Primary Purpose:
To provide administrative leadership and support for all ministries of the Square Campus. The Director of Administration works closely with both the Pastor of Outreach and Evangelism and the Pastor of Congregational Life to help translate ministry vision into coordinated action across Reaching Up, Reaching In, Reaching Out, and Reaching Across. This position anticipates needs, strengthens systems, connects people and ministries, and guides plans through implementation. The Director of Administration approaches administration as ministry, creating the organization, communication, and hospitality necessary for people and ministries to thrive.

Minimum Associate degree or equivalent education. At least three years of administrative or organizational leadership experience is desirable. Experience leading or managing people; supervisory experience is preferred. Experience working in a multicultural setting Experience coordinating projects, events, teams, or organizational systems. Duties and Responsibilities Provides administrative leadership and support for all Square Campus ministries: Provides administrative leadership, support, and coordination across all areas of Square Campus ministry, including Reaching Up, Reaching In, Reaching Out, and Reaching Across. Meets weekly with both the Pastor of Congregational Life and the Pastor of Outreach and Evangelism to understand ministry priorities, anticipate needs, coordinate plans, and support the development and implementation of ministries within their areas of leadership. Works with pastors, staff, and ministry leaders to translate ministry vision into clear plans, responsibilities, timelines, communication, and follow-through. Maintains a big-picture view of the campus calendar, ministries, events, and operational needs, helping ensure that ministry areas are coordinated rather than operating independently. Evaluates and strengthens administrative systems, communication, and use of resources across the Square Campus. Collaborates with staff from Madison's other campuses on shared initiatives and priorities.
Leads planning and implementation:
Helps the staff team remain connected, organized, forward-looking, and accountable. Provides administrative leadership for significant ministries and events, including the coordination of people, communication, resources, hospitality, and logistics. Supervises assigned administrative staff, providing clear expectations and support. Identifies gaps, proposes solutions, and ensures appropriate follow-through. Oversees Sunday morning hospitality and provides visible leadership by supporting staff and volunteers, welcoming visitors, and helping people connect with the congregation and its ministries. Maintains timely communication with staff, ministry leaders, volunteers, congregants, community members, and ministry partners. Addresses concerns, conflict, and unmet responsibilities with clarity and care. Uses Church Center, Google Workspace, and other administrative tools to support ministry coordination. Qualifications A spiritually mature follower of Jesus Christ who approaches administration as ministry. A member of Madison Church, or willing to become a member, who supports Madison's vision, mission, values, and beliefs. A strong administrator who combines big-picture thinking with attention to detail, initiative, and follow-through. An effective leader and communicator with strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence. Able to plan events, improve systems, solve problems, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively. Able to address concerns and conflict directly and constructively. Committed to anti-racism, biblical justice, and effective ministry across cultures. Proficient with Google Workspace and willing to learn Church Center and other ministry technology.
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
